It is tempting to begin with an agent that handles an entire incident. A narrower experiment is easier to understand: can an assistant produce a useful handoff from a bounded set of incident notes?

Decide what good means first

List the essential facts, the uncertainties that must remain visible, and the errors that would make the result unsafe to use. Use sanitized examples and avoid exposing production secrets.

Include difficult examples

Try incomplete timelines, contradictory observations, and incidents with no confirmed cause. An assistant that admits insufficient evidence may be more useful than one that always produces a tidy explanation.

Keep the comparison honest

Compare the assisted workflow with the existing process, including the time spent reviewing and correcting the output. Expand the experiment only when the result justifies it.
