Putting a human approval button in a workflow does not automatically make that workflow thoughtful. If the operator is tired, rushed, or missing context, the button can become a formality.

Design for the person on call

Show the scope of the proposed change, the supporting evidence, and the expected result together. Explain how the action can be reversed. Make rejection and requests for more evidence as straightforward as approval.

Measure the work that remains

An assistant might save time gathering logs while creating a new burden of verifying its conclusions. Evaluate both sides. A practical trial could compare the total time to a sound decision, including the review effort.

Preserve the ability to disagree

Human judgment matters most when the situation is unusual. The workflow should allow an operator to pause, change direction, or stop entirely without fighting an automated sequence.
